In this wide-ranging conversation on nationalism and secularism, Parsa Sanjana Sajid speaks to Manosh Chowdhury and Swadhin Sen. Chowdhury is a professor at the Department of Anthropology, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. Sen is a professor at the Department of Archeology, also at Jahangirnagar. They discuss the history and politics of national identity formation in Bangladesh, the tensions inherent in nationalist and secular ideologies, threats to pluralism and contours of pluralism itself, and other topics related to political and social life in the country.

The conversation is mostly in Bangla. It was recorded in early 2016.
